Belief Statements

We believe . . .

  • All people can learn.

  • What is best for the whole child should be the focus as we grow and develop as a school community.

  • Each individual has unlimited potential; therefore, schools must provide rigor and high expectations.

  • Individual needs must be met through high-quality, research-based practices, differentiated instruction, and varied delivery.

  • Students should feel valued and empowered as unique individuals with diverse cultural and socioeconomic backgrounds.

  • Everyone is entitled to a physically and emotionally safe and open environment.

  • A successful school climate is safe, welcoming, caring, passionate and motivating.

  • Students need the skills of effective communication, collaboration, critical thinking, and problem solving, conflict resolution and practical life skills.

  • An effective school community sets a climate of collaboration and shared ownership of developing and achieving goals.

  • Effective communication is essential in all aspects of education.

  • The responsibility of educating children is shared by all stakeholders.

We believe . . .

  • All staff must be highly qualified, effective, and engaging.

  • A school should support students in becoming independent, confident, life-long learners.

  • In preparing students with the basic knowledge and skills to be independent learners and contributing citizens.

  • In the importance of positive relationships and creating resilient students with a passion and excitement to learn.

  • Schools must explore, change, and provide diverse opportunities for students

  • Students should be provided with a personalized education through which they will be supported to fully explore and be prepared for various paths after high school.

  • Our district should nurture individual curiosity by promoting creative exploration, integrating relevant technology and initiating student ownership of learning.

  • ISD 465 should foster positive relationships between all stakeholders (staff, students, parents, community, and administration) to create an optimal educational environment.

  • Schools should research and implement relevant trends in society, education, and technology to increase opportunities for student success.

  • A successful school requires effective  leadership which guides a vision and climate that collaborates, communicates, supports, and provides resources.
