Litchfield School District provides comprehensive educational programs for students with disabilities from birth through 21 years of age. The special education staff at Litchfield Schools is dedicated to meeting the individual needs of their students. Services provided include home-based services for infants and toddlers, paraprofessionals, small group instruction, and assistance in the general education classroom.

To receive special education services, each student must meet eligibility criteria set forth by the State of Minnesota. Once the student meets special education criteria, his or her special education team will develop an Individualized Education Plan (IEP), which addresses the student’s special education needs, goals, and services. Students receiving special education services at Litchfield Schools are provided with a quality, individualized education program in the least restrictive environment.
