My name is Susan Burris and I am honored to be the new Superintendent of Litchfield Public Schools. I started on July 1st and have had a great month of transitions into the district! I’m excited to partner with our amazing students, staff, families and community to drive Litchfield Public Schools forward. During my first few weeks, it has been very clear to me the strong commitment the entire community has for our district’s mission to promote a passion for life-long learning in an open and safe environment by embracing opportunities, modeling creativity, and dialoguing to maximize the unique capabilities of each individual.

As your new Superintendent I am grateful for the trust the School Board has placed in me to lead the district forward into the future. Starting in July has given me an opportunity to meet and start working with many leaders in the community and the district. It has been an opportunity to start building relationships with many stakeholders while learning the business of the district. You have my commitment to embed myself in the community to ensure that we have a strong and meaningful 2024-25 School Year ahead! I promise to lead, listen and learn with all my energy, enthusiasm & expertise, each and every day. If you see me out and about as the school year begins, please feel free to introduce yourself.
